Zero Bey

Representing three decades of scholarship in the Fine Arts, Zero Bey’s paintings represent a kaleidoscope of key influences in contemporary painting from Abstract Expressionism to Pop Art into postmodernism. Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Zero began his interest in an artistic career as a Hip Hop enthusiast and performer. Evolving from an early interest in stage performance and rap music in the early 80s, Zero then attended SFAI and painting thereafter became the primary genre for his creative expressions. Zero’s paintings are combinations of American folklore, fantasia, and the rich visual elements of an African American ethos associated with Hip Hop, Jazz musical elements and the Blues. Zero’s current digital exhibition of 2022-23 acrylic paintings reflects this remarkable collection of cultural influences.
