Aline Pouget
Biography
Aline Pouget — A work inscribed in the time of contemporary art
Aline Pouget is a contemporary French painter, based in Paris, whose work is part of deeply personal research around beauty, light and color. Working exclusively in oil on canvas, she develops a painting where contemplation of the world becomes a sensitive experience and where the visible is transformed into emotion.
Her approach begins in a gesture that is both simple and essential: painting what touches her with its beauty. Nature, in all its diversity, constitutes one of his main sources of inspiration. Sunsets, the sea, landscapes and natural phenomena catch his eye with their variations of light, their chromatic harmonies and the atmospheres they create. The cosmos occupies a particularly unique place in its universe, as much by its immensity as by the richness of its colors and the feeling of beauty, mystery and wonder that it arouses.
Aline Pouget seeks to restore beauty as she perceives it, with the aim of remaining as close as possible to the first emotion which gave rise to the desire to paint. But this fidelity to reality is never neutral. Through his gaze, his sensitivity and his pictorial choices, the work naturally becomes an intimate interpretation of the world. Observed light becomes felt light; color becomes emotion; the subject becomes experienced.
This sensitive dimension constitutes one of the foundations of his work. The artist does not seek to dictate to the viewer what they should feel in front of a work. On the contrary, she wishes to offer him the possibility of a personal encounter with painting, so that everyone can recognize an emotion that belongs to them. Thus, the beauty which was at the origin of creation becomes, for those who look, the starting point of a new experience.
Over the years, this approach has led Aline Pouget to present her work in numerous artistic contexts in France and internationally. His career includes solo exhibitions at the Artifact Gallery in New York and the Steiner Gallery in Vienna, as well as participation in leading artistic events and institutions, including the Vatican, the Grand Palais in Paris, the Museum of International Art in Turin, Art Basel Miami, the Venice Biennale, the Florence Biennale, the Milan Biennale, the Rome Triennale and the European Museum of Modern Art in Barcelona. Its international journey continues in 2026 with a new participation in the Venice Biennale.
This international presence is accompanied by a growing inclusion of his work in publications devoted to contemporary art. In 2026, Aline Pouget appears in Atlas of Contemporary Artists 2026, published by the company Start and presented at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, with the projection of one of her works. The same year, his work was also published in La Force du Génie Créatif, by Italia In Arte Nel Mondo.
These publications extend an already significant editorial presence, notably through Atlante dell’Arte Contemporanea, associated with the Historical Fund of the Venice Biennale, Atlas of Contemporary Art 2023–2024, presented at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, as well as Anthology of the great masters of light (2024), Anthology of contemporary artists (2025) and Art Legends of Our Time (2025).
Through the exhibitions, publications and recognitions that mark her career, the work of Aline Pouget is gradually inscribed in the memory of contemporary creation. His work contributes to this living history of art which is constructed as much in workshops as in exhibitions, publications, collections and meetings with generations of spectators.
His career has also been marked by several international distinctions, including the Grand Maître de l’Art International Prize 2026, the Michelangelo Prize 2025, the Collectors Art Prize – Art Legends of Our Time 2025 and the Florence Artist of the Year Award 2025.
Aline Pouget's work thus testifies to a constant desire: to preserve through painting the emotion born in the face of the beauty of the world and to transmit it beyond time and individual sensitivities. In an era where images follow one another at ever greater speed, his painting offers a different experience: that of stopping, looking and feeling.
This is perhaps where the most lasting dimension of his work lies: transforming a personal emotion in the face of beauty into a work capable of crossing the gaze of others and, with it, finding its place in the time of art.
