"Each Bokarev’s composition is a “small green door in the wall” that allows one to penetrate into the inner hierarchy of the art measurement and to get into the world of the realized dreams. Its topography lives in deep personal space of the artist and invites one to join this festival of creativity turning a spectator into a participant."
Vitaly Pazukov, chief curator of the State Moscow Center of the Contemporary Art
Artist Statement
My objective is to provoke a reaction, a feeling, an impression, to give the people a chance to become free, to trust their imagination, to see the images and colors the way I see them.
I never just copy a reality but try to find in objects and phenomena something special, the main emotion and meaning. That’s why I’m mostly attracted to abstract and semi-figurative painting.
One can compare an abstractionist with a medium that percepts some unknown sounds and emotions and reflects these in his work.
