Biography

I grew up in Berlin and was already interested in the Bauhaus and Art Nouveau as a child.

After high school, I completed a technical apprenticeship in construction and architecture, followed by art studies in Potsdam. Between my day job and family life, my artistic work took a back seat for years. Now I devote myself fully to my art.

Given the abundance of new materials, I’ve had to explore new possibilities for my artistic practice. I see my surroundings and their colors through a different lens and reinterpret them in my works.

The result has been—and continues to be—expressive, vividly colored, abstract works that are also influenced by world events. Meaning and significance are important to me and are transformed into structures and colors.

Even in techniques such as creating sculptures, collages, and mixed-media objects, I try to address a current or socially relevant theme through shapes and colors. The inherent dynamics of the materials sometimes give rise to unplanned and surprising works.

Every day brings something new, and it takes a little courage to express it in a different, new form through art.

I am inspired by creativity in all areas, and sustainability is very important to me. A mindful approach to materials and the environment is an integral part of my work

Artist Statement

My work is always the result of impulses and events from the present, combined with experiences from the past. The situations in my surroundings and in world events inspire me to create new images. Opposites create tension and form interesting contrasts.

I work with various materials, which give rise to new forms and structures that produce interesting contrasts and a tactile surface.
