Josip Rubes
Biography
Josip Rubes is a Croatian painter, was born in Jastrebarsko in 1942. Rubes is known for landscape painting. He mostly painted pastels which he exhibited at many solo and group exhibitions in Croatia. In 2012. he graduated in pointing at Arthouse College of Visual Arts in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Since 2008. the image has been abstract style inspired by J. Polock's painting. The last few years he uis concerned with the geometric abstraction.
Artist Statement
I painted landscapes for a number of years. Since 2008. I paint with abstract expressionism and geometric abstraction. My style of painting and especially geometric abstraction, requires the precision of the performance of certain geometric bodies and lines, the imagination in composing the composition, the exceptional concentration in combining colors.
