Biography
Rouge Lefebvre Canadian born in Hawkesbury Ontario
She is a contemporary multidisciplinary artist, painter and visual designer.Her artistic approach blends fine arts, performance and fashion utilizing photography painting make up, paper sculpting, costume tailoring and embroidery. In her artistic roots and influences her initial passion was classical ballet which transformed her fluid aesthetic vision.
Despite facing temporary hearing impairment during her youth she used it to interpret music and movement through visual rhythm, viewing as poetry in space.
Her fashion exposure came from her mother a glamour model, weekends visits to luxury clothing fitting as a child and teenage model exposed her to high end textiles and craftsmanship, laying the foundation for her intricate lace body Art painting paper costume.
She studied at OCA Ontario College of Art in Toronto also in Montreal at the Institute of Cosmetology and in Paris Hairstyling.
Her aesthetic harmonize as a Beauty Advisor while promoting her Art.
Artist Statement
My portraits explore theatrical themes subverting ,historical, cultural.or spiritual symbols to question societal concepts of sacredness.I choose people from everyday life for their input as found material.These people become Icons of today. My lifelong visual project is to make photography indistinguishable from classic oil painting staged portraiture.I am inspired from dreams and my traveling wich is a pilgrimage.
