Biography

I began playing piano at age seven and later violin at the Grétry Academy of Music and then at the Seraing Academy. After attending the Liège Conservatory, where I studied piano with Mademoiselle Mercenier and violin with Monsieur Maris, I was introduced to harmony by composer Berthe Di-Vito Delvaux. I then pursued private composition studies.

For painting, I took evening classes at the Academy of Fine Arts in Liège, later studying iconography. Initially a landscape painter, I held my first exhibition at the Tivoli Gallery in Liège in 1974 and subsequently participated in numerous local exhibitions throughout Belgium. In 1977 and 1978, I won the John Cockerill Prize and the Phoenix Works Prize, a competition organized by the Provincial Immigration and Reception Service of the Province of Liège (Belgium).

To pursue higher education, I had to put my artistic activities on hold. This allowed me to obtain a degree in speech therapy, followed by a master's degree in labor studies, and later, a master's degree in education with a focus on educational psychology. These programs enabled me to earn a living, but in parallel, I never stopped composing and painting.

It was in the late 1980s that I discovered symbolism, and in the early 1990s, I began painting and creating more geometric works. Masonic art captivated me, and I continued to explore symbolic painting and sacred geometry, painting tracing boards and masonic paintings for lodges. Gradually, I painted for various lodges in Europe and beyond. I also participated in competitions and won over 30 prizes abroad (France, England, Italy, Hungary, etc.).

In my youth, I also wrote poems, but then I stopped writing, only to start again in the late 1980s. My poetry had become more symbolic and increasingly dedicated to Freemasonry. In 2010, I received the Silver Medal of Arts, Sciences, and Letters in Paris for artistic painting, and in 2016, the Vermeil Medal of Arts, Sciences, and Letters for composition and poetry.

I also began writing books in 2024. Currently, I have written four books on educational psychology and four books on Freemasonry.

As for musical composition, aside from short early piano pieces from the late 1980s and especially from the mid-1990s onward, I have written more than 150 works dedicated to Freemasonry. I plan to present them in several collections in the near future.

Although my wonderful profession as a speech therapist and psychopedagogue has allowed me to live and support my family of four children, art and writing have always nourished my spirit.
