Shirley Werner
My life has always been in some form of art, from sketching some of my teachers in Elementary School, and later, designing and making Jewelry for sale. I enjoyed designing and making some of my clothes. When my husband was building Condos and Houses, I did all the interior design and display suits.
When I started doing my art, I did not want to do small paintings like most artists, I wanted my art to be different sizes and bonded to either Metal, Acrylic, or Canvas.
I loved my walks down by the Faser River where I lived and while I was walking, I would see a Rock, Tree, Concrete Walls, and in one case some Metal from an old Shipyard. Then take a photo of it. I taught my self how to digitally paint what I imagined it to be.
Using the copy tool only I could move a line or color from one part of the photo to where I wanted it to be, until it looked like what I imagined it to be. I do not know Phot Shop nor do I want to.
Some of my Art took me months to finish, but they all took me a long time to achieve what I wanted. Many people that look at my Abstract art, see different things when looking at one piece.
My Art has been in Art Works Gallery in Vancouver, and I have sold some of my pieces very large on Metal, and some privately to an Architect Company.
