Biography

Jo Gabe loves to explore colour, narrative and contemporary realism.Celebrating a saturation and hue .Using Gold and Copper leaf to reflect and illuminate makes her work promote another dimension. Storytelling and using light to enhance and tell the story she loves to convey. Her work holds many meanings you can look at it and each painting shows something different for everyone .She paints Landscapes with depth and rich hues .Portraiture is not your usual work of art it holds a few twists and turns to make you think. She has been painting now for 20years. Living on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland Australia after travelling extensively .This shows through her work to bring much diversity to each piece.

Artist Statement

I love to paint bright colours and narratives and draw the viewer into the painting to discover more than just another painting it holds a story that can be so different to each person. I love to paint a series of works and then change the subject completely .So as to keep myself interested and fresh for another meaning of artwork. In this world of diversity and unrest I want to paint happiness and give the viewer an uplifting feel when viewing my work .I hope you enjoy .Their is never enough time in ones life to stop striving for more.
